David Gonzalez, DDS

Sonia Vasquez RDADr. David Gonzalez was born and raised in Puerto Rico, “The Shining Star of the Caribbean.” He graduated high school in his hometown of San Sebastian in 1982. Dr. Gonzalez received his bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in marine biology invertebrates from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras in 1986.

Dr. Gonzalez attended Dental School at Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI, one of the oldest and more a vanguard dental school in the US dating back to 1894. Dr. Gonzalez’s training focused in patient care and quality of service, paying detailed attention to individual patients’ needs.

After graduation from dental school, Dr. Gonzalez started his dental career as an ARMY dentist at Fort Stewart, GA. He was a dentist during Desert Shield and Desert Storm and served as one of three division dentists for the 24th Forward Support Battalion. In Dr. Gonzalez’s words, “Nothing is more satisfying than to serve and care for those that risk their lives to serve and protect our nation.”

In 1996, Dr. Gonzalez established and ran his own private dental practice in Rincon, Puerto Rico, for 10 years before relocating to San Diego, CA, in 2007. Like many of us, Dr. Gonzalez came to visit San Diego and fell in love with the weather, the scenery, the food, and the people.

Dr. Gonzalez has had extensive continued education in orthodontics, Invisalign®, Lumineers®/ Cerinate restorative systems, and CEREC in-office crowns.

Dr. Gonzalez enjoys extracurricular activities and hobbies. He is the President of the Z Car Club of San Diego, a car enthusiast club established in 1991. He also knows his way around the kitchen and attended the most renowned culinary school in Puerto Rico, “Escuela Hotelera de Puerto Rico,“ in 2005. He enjoys the outdoors and is a big fan of the many outdoor and indoor shooting ranges in San Diego.

Dr. Gonzalez’s treatment philosophy is to treat every patient as a family member, listen to their needs and concerns, educate them, and help them overcome their fears and receive the best quality of care possible.


Sonia Vasquez, RDA

Sonia Vasquez RDASonia has loved the dental field since she was a little girl. Right after high school, she attended dental assistant school and graduated in 2003. She later received her RDA license and has now been in the field for over nine years. Now, Sonia is the office manager at the practice but still assists in the back from time to time. She loves making people smile and enjoyed their time at the office. In her free time she enjoys “outdoorsy” activities with her dogs.


Rebeca Medenica, RDA

Rebeca Medenica RDARebeca has been in the dental field since 1992. She enjoys provided the best care to patients as possible and making them feel at home in the chair. In her spare time she enjoys yoga classes and running.

 

 

 

 


Melaine Plett, RDH

Melanie Plett, graduated in 1973 from Mankato State College, with a degree in dental hygiene. She has worked in private practice and taught in the dental hygiene program at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa, from 1975 until 1997. She came to San Diego in 1997 and has been with Dr. Gonzalez’s practice since 2000. On her free time she enjoys playing the cello and listening and playing music with husband.
